Yesterday I got my first job! It’s not only exciting because it will be my first post-college job, but also because it was the first job that I applied for. Which is pretty fantastic.
In addition, it is actually in my field! And according to a recent NPR report, only 10-15% of 2012 grads will find a salaried position, with benefits, in their field of study. So in light of all that I am feeling very, VERY, excited.
The job is as an “Associate International Claims Examiner” for Rutherfoord. I will be working out of Alexandria for their International division, with their clients in Latin America. (Pretty awesome, right?) They do medical insurance and assesments for UN and UNDP employees, which is also very interesting and exciting for me.
To top it all off, I got this news while I was on my way to watch the Yankees play the Orioles in Baltimore. The Yanks won 6-2, so it was a fantastic day all around.
